Who qualifies now
Eligibility has narrowed: spouses of students generally qualify only for specific programs (such as master's, doctoral and certain professional degrees), and spouses of workers qualify based on the principal applicant's occupation and remaining permit length. Relationship evidence still matters
A SOWP is also a relationship assessment. We document marriage or common-law status the way officers expect, especially where the marriage is recent or the couple has lived apart.
