What an LMIA is

A Labour Market Impact Assessment is Service Canada's confirmation that hiring a foreign worker won't negatively affect the Canadian labour market. It requires genuine recruitment efforts, correct wage-stream classification (high-wage vs. low-wage rules differ substantially), and a compliant job offer before the worker can apply for the permit.

For employers

We manage the advertising plan, application, and compliance obligations, including the inspections regime employers are subject to after approval. Getting the stream and wage right at the start prevents the common refusals.

For workers

Once the LMIA is approved, we prepare your work permit application, including any accompanying spouse's open work permit and children's permits.
